Report Builder Guide
Compile safety briefs, daily logs, and templates with a live preview.
The Report Builder in CrewBox Pro is an intuitive, real-time documentation workspace designed to compile field updates, safety records, and project delivery briefs. It features a responsive workspace where the left column houses your report's layout index, the center pane handles section configuration and content entry, and the right pane displays an instant Live Preview of the finalized document before you compile it to PDF.
1. Organizing Report Structure & Output Actions
The left-hand sidebar serves as your layout manager, allowing you to add, reorder, or remove custom report blocks easily.
- Section Navigation: Jump between your Cover Page, active content sections (e.g., Section 1, Section 2), or create brand new ones on the fly by clicking + New Section.
- Document Functions: Found at the bottom of the section index, these core utilities let you manage the file across your ecosystem:
- Print: Send the document layout directly to an on-site physical printer.
- Save to Documents: Log the completed report directly back into your project's administrative document repository.
- Save as Template: Commit your current block structure and styling choices to the organization's library for rapid deployment in future projects.
2. Customizing Sections & Media Layouts
When clicking into any content section from your index, the central configuration workspace opens to allow direct field input and image pairing.
- Section Metadata: Enter custom text strings into dedicated fields for the Section Title, Sub-Title, and an overarching Summary textbox to provide written updates or notes regarding that operational segment.
- Photo Grouping & Details: Click the + Add Photos action button to embed field imagery into the section. For every image imported, you can define an isolated Photo title and separate Description field to contextualize the work being shown.
Report Settings & Styling
The Report Settings control hub gives you pixel-perfect authority over how structural metadata, asset counts, and compliance details render on the exported PDF.
- Photo Page Layout: Choose how heavily to prioritize visuals per page by selecting 2 Photos per Page (750-character text limit), 3 Photos per Page (400-character limit), or a compact 4 Photos per Page grid (260-character limit).
- Header & Footer Mapping: Use quick dropdown fields to position vital system variables dynamically across the left, center, or right margins of each page (e.g., placing Report Title or Report Date on the left, and Company Name or Page Number on the right).
- Show / Hide Variable Toggles: Fine-tune visibility for safety parameters, client profiles, and asset tracking. Slide toggles on or off to dictate if the PDF should explicitly display things like:
- Client Name, Project Name, and Photo Capture Dates.
- Structural elements like dedicated Section Title Pages, Cover Pages, Headers, or Footers.
- Granular asset metadata, including sequential Line Numbers, Photo Numbers, the identity of the person who captured the photo, precise GPS coordinates, and linked Photo Tags.
